School and the Adomas Galdikas Museum – A Project Like No Other

The goal of this project was to restore four centuries of the building’s history, where Baroque, Renaissance, and Gothic styles intertwine. Layer by layer, we uncovered the heritage: systematically removing Soviet-era wallpaper, revealing remnants of magnificent frescoes, and restoring wall moldings. The greatest challenge was integrating modern technologies—lighting, ventilation, and air conditioning—while preserving the building’s authenticity.

Specially for this project, paints were ordered from Italy, manufactured using 17th-century techniques. The floor tiles were crafted from a specific clay to precisely replicate the authenticity of the historical period. Window handles and lighting fixtures were custom-made—exclusively for this building.

With no historical photographs available, we entered into a dialogue with the building itself: it dictated the interior concept, decorative elements, and solutions, helping us recreate an authentic, history-steeped interior.
